If you do, who do you prefer between the three main candidates, i.e Ségolène Royal (left), Nicolas Sarkozy (right) and François Bayrou (Center) ?
I am a French citizen and I am curious to know what is the opinion in GB.

F. Bayrou has the best, the most original and also Ideas which can be realised. He seems to me the most honest of all.
N. Sarkozy is also very competent and will certainly realise important reforms.
S. Royal is much populist and has very little concrete to propose.
My preference goes to F. Bayrou. However I think that N. Sarkozy will probably be the next president.

There is some interest. I notice that Sarkozy appears to be ahead in the polls which surprises me; I thought France was traditionally very socialist. Is the French electorate becoming more reactionary?
People mention Thatcher in the same breath as Sarkozy which must worry trade unionists!
I hope Sego does well. It will make an interesting change to have a female president. That is if she is not sabotaged by the usual infighting on the left.
I have no idea who Bayrou is!
