Definately wrong and I think that the company are breaking the law. I don't think that a position can be made redundant and then opened again just like that. If a company want to get rid of someone they have to either sack them and have good cause to do so, or pay them off with an agreed sum. The temptation for a company to do this is great though, as foreign labour is so cheap.

Look, you said it in your most recent remark - no contract of employment, no union. Sorry, but since the Scargill and Thatcher show in the mid 80s, the Murdoch press has persuaded British people that unions are a Very Bad Thing. What on earth were they doing working without a contract of employment, anyway ? Last I heard that was illegal. The only people who need to do that are illegal immigrants. I'm sorry for the redundant workers, but that's casual work for you, they probably replaced the unionised workers by undercutting them, anyway. If you believe in the Thatcherite/Murdoch dogma, that we are all independent, do not need each other, no such thing as society and every man for himself, this is what happens. It just happens that the latest lot are immigrants - so what ?

It was a bit blatant if it was done like that! Blimey! Although immigrant workers are getting many jobs at British people's expense more and more. Especially through agency type work where they can easily replace people who are on temporary contracts quite literally overnight.

Selfish peopl will hire underprivelaged workers to do the labor for a ridiculously small wage, whereas British people would not accept such garbage as pay. I'll tell you what, someone's wallet is getting fat, and it isn't you or the immigrants.

The hell does Blair care? He's created a complete mess in the UK, his foreign policy is in tatters (run by the yanks) and yet he knows he can walk away from it all this year.

Seriously that happened??? If it was you, then you should speak to ACAS, if you are made redundant then they are not allowed to hire someone else to do your job. They might have just changed the job title etc, but I would def look into it.
