I have never heard of the other 10 months being 10 Months Of White History. White folks need to accept that there is only Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month, and by the way, I am not racist and 2 of my best friends are white, I just think is wrong that people are so racist these days!!!

I agree, but why do you have to have Hispanic or Black months? Don't you think you have enough without an entire month to cram down other races. If the whites, Indians, Chinese, Japanese, or other races wanted a month, then the blacks would have a fit and protest. Why? Why? Why?
Why does either or any race need a month? I thought we were all created equal? Everyone one in this country has the same rights.
Consider this. Blacks are 12.8% of the population. Hispanics are 14.4% of the population.
So from that we can calculate the following:
White population is 211,460,626 or 75.3%
Black population is 36,022,003 or 12.8 %
Hispanic population is 41,650,442 or 14.4%
White Prison Population is 331,000 or .0015% of their population
Black Prison Population is 290,500 or .0081% of their population
Hispanic Prison Population is 111,900 or .00265% of their population.
Hispanics and Blacks receive 45% of welfare.
Hispanics and Blacks receive 73.7% of disability payments.
The following are observations that can be very wrong, but:
Blacks are a major percent (like 90%) of the professional sports scene.
Blacks have a sizable amount of the Movie, and Music industry.
Blacks have their own TV network (BET). Let the whites try to have their own, and watch the blacks revolt as they say whites are prejudice, and racist!
I was raised in a community where 95% of the people were black. I played with them, ate with them, sang with them, and worked with them. I am not prejudicest nor racist, but I believe that if you have a populus that consumes more than the other races, then you need to get off your crying stage, and accept that we ALL have made mistakes in the past. WE ALL need to forgive each other and forget. And get on with our lives!
God created us equal! Why do we have to have a month just for a race? Is it because we still want the attention? Why?

I think you are a bit racist because I don't know anybody that is white feels that way. We pretty much feel that we cant celebrate our heritage because we are supposed to all feel guilty for what "our ancestors "did.
My ancestors were poor farmers from Denmark, and would never dream of owning a slave, and neither would I for that matter,but I have to feel guilty too right? Cuz I'm white?.
Just because people are white doesn't mean they all come from the same heritage. When is Danish American month again?
Native American's are not white and they don't have a month either...hmmmmmmm.

no one should take offense to what she is saying. i think i understand what you are saying because this is a very controversial subject. and for those of you who are just answering the question just for the points shame on you! what she is saying in correct english is why throughout the year teachers are teaching regular history which is mostly involves a bunch of caucasian guys and slavery. and not the things that us a african americans and hispanic americans have achieve. we have done a lot for this country as well as the 'white' guys.
yea sure the country was founded by the a group of white guys that sailed from another country to america but if it wasn't for a lot of things that african americans have don't ignorance will still be reigning in the america. so no one please don't take offense to what she is saying apparently she was just asking a question. And i always say it really don't matter who has a special day or month you just should no your history and where you came from!

white people are just mad because black people get a special month where they can pretend like white people started it all.
okay look, it all started off with BLACK MEN trading BLACK MEN.
im not racist at all, because 2 of my best friends are black.

and another thing, nobody ever said that there were 10 months of "white history". nobody important anyway. so when you read in the N&O that george bush said "okay, the rest of the year is white history yaay" then you can complain that there is too much racisim these days.

It's not like it's called "White History Month". We dont celebrate the history of white people during those 10 months. It's just regular time of the year.

this was a white country founded by the french or European and for a while white people juss have control i feel your question because blacks and Hispanics have been through alot to say we get 1month apiece when the whits really didn't do nothing and that get to celebrate each month but that's messed up and we need more months to celebrate our culture

I'm gonna tailgate on cuppycake's remarks. Appearently lots of folks feel you are racist. I look forward to the day when we have an "everybody" month. When no one judges anyone based on the color of their skin, heritage or choice of religion. God don't care as long as you love him. Why should you?

By the way you are saying things, its racist. I think if we (I'm Hispanic) want to be treated equal then why do we need a month to feel special or differen if we want equality? Just like the Gay Pride day, if they want to be treated equal, why are you celebrating being different? its not like if we have a Straight Pride Day.

ok...nobody ive ever known has said that the other ten months are white history months..
i personally find it kind of irritatiing that white people dont get a month and every other race does. And if we did we would be considered racist. i guarantee it
