Its tough to argue a lie. Its getting better but it still exists in the marketplace, and the military, all that plus the pressure on women to do it all all the time. I can usually take the opposite side of any issue I need to but the only way I can think of to handle this is to cite specific women as if their accomplishments were able to be duplicated by more women, like forget Condi Rice knew Bush long ago, any woman could reach her level in government, or Oprah is a success so any woman can be rich in communications. Don't add the fact that its only recently women were allowed to anchor news programs. Tell only one side of the story.

The crucial question here is: women in which countries? In the West women have full rights and this is indisputable. In the Middle East they do not.
One thing people consistently overlook is that rights and achievements are not the same thing. No one has a right to be a news anchor or to serve in the infantry; everyone has the right to a fair trial, to free speech, to own property etc. In the West every woman does have these rights. And they're getting to be news anchors too, it's just taking a while.
Worldwide, women do not have these rights. So concentrate your argument on your own country.

I think they've pretty much gotten everything, at least here in the States. I see them in managerial positions all the time and by law, if they become pregnant, wed or unwed, they get 6-8 weeks off after the birth of the child, no penalty and no questions asked. They do receive equal pay for equal work. It's the law.
One thing in particular that a friend of mine(male) and I have observed in the work place. We've noticed how subservient they become around their husbands and how they even exhibit signs of co-dependency when it comes to situations involving the husband or "significant-other." But when it comes to the rest of us guys in the work place, especially us "pleasers" and weaker types, they have no inhibition about telling you what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. Just an observation.

Women have gotten the rights they're entitled too, and now that they have their foot in the door, a minority of them (note, minority) are attempting to push things that little bit further to get better than their male counterparts.
As someone mentioned, admission into the "boys club", which will never happen. Animals will always gather together due to similar interests or something in common, be them men, women, pigeons, etc.

I have posted a link to a term paper I wrote regarding women and society below.
I think debates are wonderful when they serve to explore angles people have not contemplated before, rather than declaring one side a winner and another side a looser.
I hope you find this term paper to be enlightening and possibly even life changing.

Women do have most of their rights, the only thing they havent gotten is a membership to the "good ole boys" club. I guess thats what some women are holding out for. (not worth it) women only have each other to blame for having no faith in one another. We have alot of power in the USA, and if the majority of women would be willing to back the females in their field, we would not be claiming we didnt have certain rights. Its not men that hold women down, its women who hold women down and pass the blame off onto men, who really do not form the majority.

I'd recommend not using "they are like mean" as a defense.
Just an idea.
