Hey everybody! I'm writing a story and need some help with something. One of my characters is a really outgoing guy and I want him to use a nickname instead of his real name for the majority of the story. Any ideas?

And it has to have something to do with his red/ginger hair!

Best answer will be given to whoever gives the most good ideas. Thanks a lot!

How about Rogan, it is Gaelic for red haired. Then there is Rohit which is Hindu for red colour. Rooney is also Gaelic for red haired and Rory is Gaelic for red king. Roth is German for red haired/rugged. Russell is red haired, fox like. The choices are endless. Just check out any names site...they can be great fun...

Yeah... "Red" is a good one...
How about "Ron" or "Ronald"? I know you would not want to use names from another novels but in the world you're creating there's Harry Potter too, right?
What would you say about "Fire"?
May be just "R" like Red would be fine?
"Cherven"-red in my language...
No more ideas, sorry!

All the nicknames I think of for red hair go better with females..these are the few male suitable ones.
Good luck and I hope you find the right one.
