If depends on your body. If you mucus discharge is low and you the right body temp, you can have sex anytime without getting pregnant. It is all about learning when you ovulate. You can learn it from the internet. The reason I know this is because I am catholic and they teach us this when we get married, but I don't use it, there is even a catholic term for it but I forgot what it is called.

There is a chance of course.. So if you don't want to get pregnant, or it is not in your near future plans don't mess with that..
Every woman is different on that.. You don't know what will happen.. They also say that if you have your period and you have sex there is no chance to get pregnant. Women tried it and some had the result that they didn't wish to have..
Ask your doctor for your circle... :)

Yes, there is for there is always a chance that you can get pregnant any day of the month (even during your period). If you're worried about getting pregnant, try using contraceptives or just wait until you feel confortable, but the only sure way to not get pregnant is to not have sex.

There is a chance that you COULD get pregnant several days before your period.

"During each menstrual cycle, a woman's ovaries release an egg, or ovum. This process is called ovulation. This typically takes place an average of about 14 days before the start of a woman's monthly period, but the timing varies from month to month even in the same woman (and sometimes does not occur at all). After ovulation the egg moves toward the uterus through the fallopian tubes, where fertilization may take place. An unfertilized egg may live for about 24 hours. If it isn't fertilized, the egg will be shed during the next menstrual period, along with the lining of the uterus.

A woman is most likely to become pregnant if sexual intercourse occurs just before or just after ovulation. Sperm can survive for several days -- typically two or three -- inside a woman's body. Under ideal circumstances, however, they may remain viable for up to five days. So if sperm are deposited early -- such as during a woman's period -- they can hang around a few days, waiting until conditions are right for conception. " 1

"When during the menstrual cycle can I (or can't) get pregnant?
You're most fertile at about the midpoint of your menstrual cycle. In a regular 28-day cycle, that would be about two weeks before your period starts. Of course, since most menstrual cycles aren't perfectly regular, it's kind of hard to predict this timing in real life. But the midpoint of the cycle is when an egg is released from one of your ovaries into one of your fallopian tubes, through which it travels toward your uterus. Right around this time, from just before the release of the egg to the time when it arrives in your uterus, is when you're most likely to get pregnant. You're least likely to get pregnant during menstruation, when the egg is being flushed from the body. Many women ask, Can I get pregnant during my period, and the answer is yes! It's important to remember that you can get pregnant anytime -- even during your period. " 2

This is a myth. The only way to be sure that you won't get pregnant is to abstain from sex.
This means that you will need contraception and the best form is condoms as it sorts out STI's as long as helping prevent pregnancy.
Here is a free number which are friendly and can give you loads more advice and they definitely know their stuff.

Yes there is a chance...you only ovulate for about the last week and a half of your cycle, untill you actually start your period the egg is still in your uterus waiting to be fertalized. unless your on birth control i wouldnt suggest doing this. dont freak out to much though. if your period is a couple days late, give it a couple days more. if it still hasnt occured take a pregnancy test. best of luck

p.s as for getting pregnant during your period, it is very unlikely to get pregnant during your period..once the lineing of your uterus is being shed there is no reversing that. and you dont ovulate (release an egg) directly after your period either...

You can get pregnant anytime before, during, or after your period. You need to ALWAYS use some sort of birth control to avoid unwanted pregnancy. And your boyfriend or whoever should wear a condom anyway to protect both of you from AIDS or other STDs.

Yes, there is a chance that you can get pregnant ANYTIME you have sex although there are times that is more likely than others. During the time frame that you mentioned it is less likely, but possible. Be careful!!
