No, probably not, and here is why.

Computers use switching power supplies. If you attempt to connect two similar circuit grounds together, noise can cause from one power supply can cause the other to be unstable.

Let's say that you are currently using a 450 Watt supply. Many computers squeak by with a 350 Watt supply. Instead of getting another 450 Watt power supply, I would just get a whopping big 640 Watt or larger supply. Take a look at http://www.newegg.com and look for something bigger.

Consider this one:
Linkworld LPG2-43-P4-IO ATX12V 630W Power Supply - $24.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817165004

But read all of the Specs and Ratings.

If you are using SATA drives, then consider this:
Rosewill 8" Sata Power Splitter Cable Model RCW-302 $2.49
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812119010

ORION Pro Series 700-114-6IN S-ATA Power Adapter $2.49
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812104555

Rosewill 8" Power Splitter Cable Model RCW-300 $2.49
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812119008

Everything that you need.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Maybe. Some power supplies will not power if they are not connected to the system board. They will not received a signal telling them the PC has been "turned on", so they will not run.

You need to invest in a more powerful poser supply (600-750) to replace the current one.

Probably, just make sure the ground on the added supply is grounded also to the chassis of the PC. This will keep both power supplies at the same negative voltage potential.
