I worked until I popped. Left work on a Friday and had him the next Thursday - had to stay home due to dialiation and contractions.

Until you feel it is time to go. It is adviseable to leave 2 weeks before the due date, to rest and have some time for yourself before the new arrival. Trust me, you'll need it. With the first one, I had a healthy pregnancy but was sick till week 21, and then felt overtired at the last trimester, so left at 31 weeks. Also I work at the airport with full of abusive people, so I didn't want to jeopardise the baby or stress more than I needed to - people are nasty to you even when you are pregnant. Next time, may stay a bit longer (but not much longer!).

You can work out till the end. You need to make sure that your heart rate does not get too high. A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to talk, or sing along to a song, when you are pregnant.

I would not increase the intensity of your work-out while you are pregnant.

In the last trimester your body starts to produce relaxin, a hormone that loosens up your ligament. Therefore you need to be careful not to over-extend or stretch anything. Your body is also less stable due to the relaxin and the giant stomach you will have.

Walking (even speed-walking) is a good way to work-out when pregnant.

I used my eliptical quite far into my pregnancy but gave it up when I sprained my ankle (not while working out),

i worked until i was 8 months, then i was 2 weeks overdue so i had about 6 weeks of putting my feet up. I was working full time, but i think that i could have worked till the end if i was only doing half days. I only gave up work at 8 months because i had saved holiday leave from the previous year.

I am now working half days so i intend to work until the end if i can - my employers have already arranged cover for me so they don't mind if i leave earlier than that

I worked all the way through my first one until one monday went in, started labor and went home. Had the baby later in the afternoon. This time its twins and I have had a lot of problems with going into labor several times so far have managed to keep them in the womb and now they could come anytime.

There is no average because everyone has different jobs that incur different levels of stress, physical and time demands, etc. Just follow along with what you're body is telling you - if it's taking an extraordinary amount of energy to get to work and be there, it's time to call it quits.

I am currently 37.4 weeks pregnant. My doctor gave me the option to leave work early if I wanted, but the way my maternity works if I can hold out I will have more time with my son after he is born. Even if with our financial situation, I would not leave early because I think I would get more bored and anxious. Good Luck!

Unless you have a very physical job or pregnancy complications, doctors will pull you out at 38 weeks. I went out then will all my pregnancies, except for #1, which was early. I had a very physical job then, worked on a Friday and gave birth 5 days later.

With non-problematic pregnancies, it is possible and may be safe to work up until the date of delivery. That said, it's always best to check with your doctor. Some people may be encouraged to stop working if they are having a difficult or problematic pregnancy .... particularly if they have a physically demanding job!

If you are use to working out you keep working out. You would just need to modify your workouts some. and at some time like not do as many ab exercises or excessively long work out. but each person would need differnce info. I would also talk to my doctor to find out exacly how good of shape I am in because as an indiviadual there maybe something extra that you would need to do.
