Does reading in the car damage your eyes???

My dad gets mad because I read in the car a lot and he thinks I might damage my eyes though I already wear glasses??? What can happen if i read in the car and is it bad??? What are the effects??

Probably because the car is in motion and the print(words/figures) are not as static as when you have placed the book on a flat surface (table/bed). Try swinging a book, even though the movement is slow, the words are not as clear so that means you have to focus more to read/see what is written. This gives your brain more work - to focus. You could trying listening to some music or something else and reading in another environment. Hope I have helped

Reading in a well-lit car will not do your eyes any damage. Your three possible problems come from attempting to read in inadequate lighting (causing eye-strain as you squint to make out difficult letters), attempting to read off a white surface with direct sunlight (the paper may have a brightness high enough to reflect the sun's UV light, the same reason you wear sunglasses), and visual motion sickness which some people suffer from staring at a stationary object while their peripheral vision shows things racing by.

Reading in the car won't damage your eyes as long as the lighting is good. I can't do that most of the time though because I have trouble with motion sickness.

I cannot read in a moving car. I get sick.
