Just interested to see which band is more popular out of the two grunge Gods. Personally i couldn't answer this question because they are two of my favourite bands of all time and it would be like choosing between my Mum and my Dad.

Both of them are amazing, but I would go with Nirvana. Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain both have unquie voices, and both bands were pretty revolutionary, but I really like Kurt's writing style and his voice better. They've also had a lot of influence on what I listen to. Pearl Jam has good songs and everything, but I pick Nirvana for personal reasons I guess.

I agree with you, I really can't choose. It's really hard for me to decide, considering that I prefer Ten over Nevermind, but In utero over Vs. It's easier for me to choose between Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. I think it's a tie, but, well, Pearl Jam's new album came out last year and it rocks! I went to their show and it was awesome, and Nirvana died with Kurt Cobain. Still, I think I'll have to go with Nirvana just because all of their albums are great (of course, if Kurt hadn't died they would've made a bad album sometime) and they're more influential. Though question :)

I'm going to have to say Nirvana had more of an impact on their following. When Cobain killed himself a lot of people felt lost in life.

Pearl Jam is good, and I kinda like them better but I'd have to say that because of Kurt Cobain Nirvana would be much more popular and influential.

totally pearl jam. sure nirvana was good and all, BUT they were over before they could fall. all thats left is the great they were, who knows they could have stunk later. and pearl jam is still rocking today, perhaps even better than ever. dont get me wrong im a nirvana fan, but pj is sooooo great and eddie has a way better voice than kurt did.
