I am 38 weeks pregnant. My husband and I had sex lastnight and afterwards, I had 5 hours of non-stop cramping-like strong menstrual cramps. Is this normal? It stopped after 5 hours.

I am 32 weeks pregnant and have found I am starting to get menstral like cramps after sex and pain in my pelvis. I think it's just where the pelvis gets stretched. I also found it stopped after a few hours.
I haven't had it checked out with a doctor, but I don't think it's too much to worry about.

You should stop having sex unless you are ready to have the baby. When I was 32 weeks I was still having sex and I was having bad cramps the next day I starte bleeding turns out that having sex put me in premature labor the doctor did stop it but only for a week it was horable I had to get several shots in my hips to develop the babys lungs. I ended up having my son at 33 weeks. I didn't get to take him home for a whole week.

Hello, at 38 weeks, you are ready to deliver. The vaginal contractions of orgasm would likely have triggered the contractions of delivery. You are probably experiencing Braxton-Hicks contractions, or preparatory contractions for delivery. Call it false labor if you want, but your body is getting ready to deliver. The sex triggered the early labor contractions. The fact that they stopped, means that you weren't quite ready but you soon will be.

Doesn't sound normal - maybe the vaginal penetration is irritating your cervix and causing the contractions - hold off on the sex for a couple of weeks until you're ready to go into labor and then go for it if you want.

anything that does not feel right.is usually just that not quite right, if in UK call your mid wife as an urgent case and g with her advice. else where contact your doc and chat with him............had sex right up to the day before both my children where born and never had any problems so its always worth checking.......failing that you just might have woken baby up and that was his way of getting back at you.........

Take care Hun and good luck.
