Anyone else think that commercial for Boniva osteoporosis med. with Sally Fields is the stupidest thing? The big selling point she makes is that her "friend" has to take the time every week to take her other brand of med. pill, but Boniva is a monthly dose...what a stretch here-is that the best point they can make about Boniva? Who in the world doesn't have 8 seconds a week to take a pill? As if commercials aren't bad enough, but really...gimme a break!

Ha ha ha... I know. I thought the same thing when I saw that ad. Wow, it really must take her friend a long time to swallow that pill if it is such an "inconvenience" for her. Thank God for Boniva!

Sally Field -- why didn't you refuse to say such a stupid line?

Thank you! I have been complaining about that stupid commercial ever since I first saw it. I was wondering how disorganized a woman had to be to find it tough to schedule in a pill once a week. I'm guessing her friend has a lot of kids since daily birth control pills must have really messed with her mind.

I know what you mean. I think commercials as a whole are getting stupider and stupider. Just look at those SuperBowl ads. Lame! And don't even get me started on those Nutrisystem ads. Aghhhh! "Look at me! I'm in a size 2!" I want to smack her, and I'm skinny! I hate commercials altogether.

Perhaps the stupidity of the commercial is to get more of a response from its audience to remember their product. Such as yourself has remember the product and is now giving it free publicity.

As someone who needs daily medication, I totally agree. I shook my head the first time I saw that commercial, wondering what her friend would do if she had real problems.

There is a thing about commercials...not always about making logical sense, but to make it memorable.

The fact you are talking about it and others know which commercial it is tells me it is memorable...therefore effective.

i used to argue with my fiance about the same thing! always had to remind her, "take your pill, take your pill!" i think she would purposely forget to take 'the pill' just to say "oops, i forgot it last night" and make me wait a month for some loving. oh, different pill. sorry
