Are you talking about the listener that you can buy at the store? If so I would suggest not buying one, I am 34 weeks and I can't hear the heartbeat with it. All though, the baby and I do have some fun with it because as soon as I put it on my belly she starts kicking it. Oh it also says to be patient, and I have tried for an hour at a time before and nothing and yes I was in a quiet room.

I have one of those and it tells you on the box 20 weeks but I heard heartbeats at 19 weeks. The Dr. told me that I should wait til 25 weeks because its not as acurate as a regular doppler. And you'll just end up getting frustrated when you dont hear it!!!

My box says late in the 2nd trimester is the best time. I'm 31 weeks and haven't heard anything yet. BUT, I have heard the baby kick (dull thud) and usually when I put the listener on my belly, he starts kicking up a storm. I'm happy with mine if only for that reason.

I think it says on the box to be around 20 weeks, but I did buy one, and it never worked. I couldn't hear anything all the way up to 40 weeks!

I bought one when I was pregnant with my first child...and I could never hear anything but stomach sounds. Even when I was nine months pregnant and had tried all over my belly, it was impossible to hear the heartbeat. I just decided to anticipate going to my doctor's appointments to hear it.

That component is a waste of money. a woman who gets pregnant at one hundred ten lbs won't pay attention lots until the third trimester... all of us who's a classic length would be fortunate to pay attention the pulse the final 2 months... perchance. return it to the shop.

Third trimester, only if the house is really quiet, and you've got plenty of time to sit and try to find it. It's a huge waste of money.
