'Goodfellas' is obviously the best mobster movie. 'The Godfather' was an excellent film, but it romanticized the Mafia. Martin Scorsese's film gives the audience a gritty and realistic vision of a violent era in our American society. 'The Godfather' is introduced the principle of separating family from business while 'Goodfellas' gave us a motto that most of us live by when it comes to the people we care about the most: 'Never rat on your friends'. Also, this is a sentimental choice as it should have been Scorsese's second Oscar (He should have won for 'Raging Bull').

Goodfellas turned me on to mob movies, but The Godfather PS2 game also did a lot for me. What does this say about me as a person?

Goodfellas. It was just more entertaining to me. Plus I read the book so I knew more to the story. That and true mob stories appeal to me more than fiction. The Godfather as a movie didn't impress me much. I'd be more interested to read the book. But after seeing the movie... maybe not. Plus I don't really like Al Pacino. The only movies I like him in were Scarface and Scent of a Woman. Anyway...
I wonder if they'll make a movie about the "ice man" richard kuklinski. That was a good book.

Goodfellas shows you what not to do wrong so you won't get yourself killed and Godfather shows you how to comport yourself within the mob family. so i would have to go with the experts and say the Godfather is better, but Goodfellas taught me a lot more than Godfather

The Godfather...it's a classic Hollywood film. Goodfellas was OK, but reminds me of my neighbors. I preferred the Departed over both though.

Seen them both but I still watch Goodfellas alot....one of my fav. mob flicks.I also like funny things,walks on the beach,hot chocolate,and pissing in pools while swimming.

THE GODFATHER OF COURSE!!! IT WAS A LOT DEEPER THAN GOODFELLAS. GODFATHER HAD MORE CHARACTERS TO FOLLOW THAN GOODFELLAS.
