Christians have redefined marriage to include one man, one woman, and one gay prostitute.

Actually, he supports things that most conservatives don't believe such as global warming. Whereas most conservatives believe global warming is a natural cycle and that CO2 emissions from human activity has caused less than 0.28% of the greenhouse effect, Ted Haggard is a strong supporter of Evangelical Climate Initiative. He believes in government restrictions on gays, even though he use to be, believes in the war on drugs, even after admitting to using methamphetamine! He is a danger to smaller government, not a contributor! He imposes his views on not only the conservatives but everybody, just like every politician, even the one you vote for! He cares less about freedom and more about control! Ted Haggard can take himself and all the other morality republican government pushers along with the controlling democrats and get the hell out of my government! Don't get me wrong, he's got the right to free speech as much as I have a right to live my life freely as long as I don't infringe on anyone else's rights!

The question is not "Why?" but "How?". As a conservative, moreover, a Christian, and a Republican, I do not find myself imposed upon by Mr. Haggard. Frankly, I had never heard of Ted Haggard until he made the papers in disgrace.

I think the question is "Why do conservatives allow Ted Haggard impose his morality on them?"

When one of the sheep from the Religious Right flock fall out of favour, in such a glorious and extravagant fashion, I relish every moment. When you claim to have God on your side so loudly and openly, you better have a pretty clean life. And to my way of thinking, most of the loudest proponents of 'good and decent living' in the conservative party are the most immoral.

Any party that uses the Bible as its guidepost, and makes such a grandstand issue out of morality is bound to get thumped. The holier than thou conservatives got alot more than they bargained for with Haggard...and we'll see just how Christian they really are in how they deal with him...

Your question doesn't make any sense. 1) Nobody is "imposing" morality on anyone. 2) Unlike many a disgraced leftist, Haggard resigned his post. 3) People choose their political and religious affiliations. Nobody is forcing anyone to become a conservative or a Christian.

How can he do that? It is up to the individual to decide for themselves what is right, and wrong for them. If folks want to believe what he says, then it is their responsibity, not Haggard's. It is true for anyone.

Ted doesn't. He is a man who struggles with extramarital sex and drugs. He has problems. That cannot be 'projected' unto conservatives as a whole!

*Sure you're a lawyer buddy... probably pretty successful too, that's why your wasting your time here. Or, are you one of those rich liberal kids who drive their BMWs and Lexus replete with Lawyer vanity plates, 2 years before you attempt the bar...

I'm in a blue state, and I never heard of him till that was in the papers. So,you see, your statement makes no sense. Does Ward Churchill speak for all libs when he called 9/11 victims "Little Eichmans"? Get real, dude!

Because he's a hypocrite. Just like Bill Clinton was, telling us he supported women's rights while sexually harassing and possibly raping women.

Focus on the message, not the messenger - it's far more important.

I cannot stand professional preachers they are all scum. I have nothing against Christianity and am Christian myself. Televangelists and people that control mega churches are phoney and are just in it for the money.
