All the muscles in my lower back are flexed and won't relax. I am in a lot of pain. What should I do? The last time this happened to my dad he went to the hospital but they couldn't do anything for him. Help!!

i have the same problem right now, but i think it could be a virus spreading, because last year i had something wrong with my spine, and it was spreading. maybe it's a virus, but today i put some "mineral ice" on it at the nurse, but that really helped. maybe ask around where you can get it. good luck !!

YOU could have a disc going out, seek medical ATTN soon. Try a hot bath, for a few days, make a DR. APPOINTMENT, for A cat scan , to see if that might be the problem. It's A very painful thing, I know. Being an RN, that's the best thing to do. Don't keep puting it off. They can get you some FLEXARIL to help ease the tension in your'e back.GOOD LUCK!!!!

Sounds like a back spasm.
You may want to see your family doctor for drugs to help in the short-run. Also see your physical therapist for relief of the pain now, and strategies to keep it from coming back!

Go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT" and search your home area.

Good Luck!
