don't know about the mult prop of equality because it seems more like an addition property of equality and straightforward algebra.

5/2=x-(-3/4); fractions into decimals and negatives cancel
2.5 = x+.75; subtract .75 from each side of the equation

1.75 = x

x - (-3/4) is the same as x + 3/4, so therefore, 5/2 = x + 3/4, which means, 5/2 - 3/4 = x, or 2.5 -.75 = x.....x = 1.75

5 / 2 = 2.5 / this sign means divide 3 / 4 =.75 so 2.5 = x - .75 so 1.75 is the value of x

5/2 = x - ( -3/4 )
5/2=x + 3/4
5/2 - 3/4 = x
10/4 - 3/4 =x
7/4 =x
so, x= 7/4

5/2 = x - (-3/4) First, drop parenthesis
5/2 = x + 3/4 Then multiply both sides by 4
10 = 4x + 3 Now subtract 3 from both sides
7 = 4x Now, divide by 4
7/4 = x
