What kind of boss is this. I am recent college graduate and took a good job it regular 8-5 job. If i am one minute past 8 i am late. If I leave a 5 pm, I am leaving to early. Everyone else in the office has no fixed schedule, coming in at 8:03 is not an issue for them. The women is minortiy she has attitude issues, constantly obeserves and critices everthing I do even if i do nothing wrong. Recently found out she has driven others in my postion out of the office within a year. And I am fast approaching that. Other people think of her has a *****. My other boss only listens to what she says. I am a peon in the department. I tried to switch department but my second boss would recomend me cause the other boss doesnt like me. This person also is the workhorse of the office she does most of the work for my business unit. So there is no help there. I am in training postion. Not a single traine has ever stayed in this has every stayed in this unit. Am I being micromanged? Driven out?

you might be micromanaged by this person, but I would see this as an opprotunity. I just quit a job where I was being micromanaged (and many other illegal issues were happening). My boss apparently had driven out past employees in my position by being "the baracuda" (which is what everyone called her). I took the position and the issue and made it a challenge. I wanted to be the first to stay longer than anyone else. And basically work out of spite towards her. No matter what she tried to do, I never let it get to me. I tried to be a few steps ahead of her by having a report ready before she even asked for it, arrange her travel arrangements when I KNEW she was needing to go outta town, etc. etc. At first it shocked her, then it just peeved her because she had nothing to degrate me on. It was kinda fun actually. But my issue was a little diferent because I did quit only due to the illegal issues (ie-city ordanances, OSHA, etc.)
So before I quit, I made all the phones calls to proper depts. to report the wrong doings then turned in my resignation. Leaving her with her jaw on the floor and major issues to deal with.

One thing I do have to say is bosses like this have taught me ALOT. They have shown me to be a stronger person, mentally and physically in the work world. To be a survivor and to fight for what you believe in. So there can be a positive spin to it all.

You lost me once you felt you had to mention that she is a minority. But whatever. Disregarding that, everybody has had to work with someone impossibly difficult, mean, incompetant, whatever. Your only options are 1) become the best employee that place has ever seen so that no matter how much she wants to be critical and complain, she won't be able to 2) report her behavior to her supervisor or to HR, 3) talk to her directly (in an extremely nice way if possible) telling her how you feel and that you would like to come to an understanding with her, or 4) find another job. Sometimes, if a situation is really unbearable, I say life is too short to be aggravated on a daily basis.

Sounds to me like you have to find a new opportunity or buck up and deal with it. In most training environments, trainees don't have any control over what happens, so the likelihood of an improvement is pretty low. Your supervisor might just be making it difficult to ensure that you are right for that position, or that organization. The grass might not be any greener on the other side of the fence.

Your boss is a hose bag. Look for something else. There is no need for you to be miserable.
