Your life is not something that happens to you, it is what you make it. At every moment you can find cause for joy. Trust me, it's out there waiting for you to discover it.
Pick a dandelion flower and look at closely as if it the only thing you will ever see, as if you know that your life will end in five minutes. See what a wonderful thing even such a simple object really is.
Commit yourself to serving others. Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Find an orphanage or a school for the handicapped and go spend an afternoon seeking to bring pleasure to the lives of others.
Find out what museums or art galleries are within reach and go spend some time looking at things you never imagined you could possibly be interested in.
Put on headphones and listen, really listen, to the music not the latest fad but the great classics which have inspired people for hundreds of years.
Pack your sleeping bag and a backpack and go on the road for a couple of weeks, if you 18 or older. Pick a target city or some national park you have never seen, far from your home, and make your way there steadily by hitchhike or Greyhound, stage by stage.
Get away from the embrace of parents, church, etc., and make your own way for a while, until you recover your self-confidence, your inner strength, and your sense of joy in life.
Life is what you make it.

The most important change you can make is to change your mind. Your life is as exciting as you make it. Your life is in your hands. Don't see it as being controlled by "someone else's actions." If you see yourself as a helpless victim then it won't get any better.
Take charge! What do you want from life? What are your dreams? What do you want to do? Figure this out & then go for it! Life is what you make it. So make it!
Love yourself, believe in yourself & you can do anything.
Sometimes we are in a rut of our own making. We see no way out but the key is always in our hands. You just need to motivate yourself to do something. Get off your butt & have an extraordinary life! (Easier said than done I know!)
Here are some of the exciting things on my personal to-do list this year (things I haven't tried yet & have wanted to for some time):
horseback riding
rock climbing
skydiving
I want to start hiking again & be outdoors more. You should too. Get outside! There's a whole beautiful world to explore. Winter is tough because we just want to hibernate inside & you feel gloomy & lazy.
You can have a fulfilling, fun-filled life anytime you want. It's up to you. Just do something! Get involved in your interests & you'll meet new people & things start to happen!
I moved to a new community & got involved with art shows here (I'm a painter) & the musical community (I'm a singer/songwriter & I perform weekly at a local bar where I ended up meeting my boyfriend, a fellow singer-songwriter.) You never know what can happen until you try. You have to get out & seize life. It's not going to come & find you if you're hiding out at home.
Good luck! But remember you make your own luck. Happiness is a choice. So choose it & then do whatever it takes.

You cannot walk away from unhappiness. You cannot walk toward happiness - just walk. Happiness is the action of 'not looking for happiness'.
Once a woman was trying to clean her home, but her baby kept crying, her other two kids kept fighting, she dropped a glass on the kitchen floor and it broke into a hundred pieces - she went outside to get the mail and the dog ran out of the house and down the street. At this point everything got to her and she ujust sat down on the ground and started crying. Her neighbor, who happened to be a Buddhist, came over to console her. He asked what was wrong and she went on this diatribe of things that were finally getting to her. Her neighbor listened to her talk about all the stuff she was going thru and when she was done, he said, "How fortunate you are to be so busy and have such a full life."

The only advice that I could give would be cheer up. Look on the brighter side of life. A new hobby or activity could really help you out. I would also suggest, (if you are an open person), to try out religion. I am a christian, and I love life. Not just the fact that I am alive, but the fact that everyday, I can try to bring joy and light into someone else's day to day routine. Hope you get to feeling better, and I'll pray for you.

First off, what makes you think "normal" people live "fun-filled' lives? Next why do you let yourself get bored? I have a feeling that you have much more power to change your situation than you give yourself credit for.
There is a story of an old man who was sitting by the side of the road. One day a traveller past by. The old man said hi and the traveller stopped for a moment to talk with him. The traveller asked him what the people in the next town where like. Old man responded by asking him what the poeple where like in the town he came from. Traveller explained that the people in the town he was coming from were mean, selfish, boring and unkind. That is why he was going to check out this next town. The old man told the traveller that the poeple in the next town where just like that too. Later that day an other traveller past by. He also stopped by to talk to the old man. The same question came up "what are the poeple in the next town like?" Again the old man asked the traveler what the people where like in the town he came from. The second traveller responded "They were kind, generous, loving, exciting people" The old man told the traveller that the poeple in the next town where just like that too.
Lesson: life is what we make of it. Much if not all of our world is determined by our actions and reactions to other people. If you have tried to "start-over" three times, maybe it is time you start building yourself up instead of tearing yourself down.
Also people will live up to your expectations, including yourself. Keep high standard for what you do and who you are and you will attract similar energies in you life.
Remember, what you do in your life is under your control, find something you love and dive into it head first. Do something worthwhile everyday and put other people's needs before your own. You will find that life gets more pleasant the longer you engage in positive activity.

I disagree. The life around you is endlessly fascinating. The fault is not in your surroundings, it's in you. YOU have to learn to look at things with new eyes and as if you were seeing life for the first time.
Your life will suddently become much more interesting when you learn to look with utter astonishment at the mind boggeling beauty of a single blade of grass.

Go gather mangoes, walking fourteen hours a day to get two fruits for your family, to go with the grass soup.
That's what people in Guatemala had to do during droughts ten years back.
Go help people.
Won't be so dull, hunh?

You are not taking on life. You're just letting happen. Get out of your comfort zone and take a chance or two. Risk all and come alive.

Write down a list of 'happy' things that you want in your life
Write down a list of 'unhappy' things that you want to get rid off from your life.
By the time you prepare these lists you will find out solution for your problem.
