I'm ten years old now.

I'm ten and I've already raised over $300 by selling a book that I wrote and selling bookmarks that we hand made.

You're doing very well there, Cora! Congratulations on your book!

There are a lot of animal jobs you can get into, but they all require that you do well in school. So whatever you do, study hard!

You could become a veteranarian or a veterinarian tech. You could consider running a kennel, but that is a lot of hard work. Especially if you want to be good at it. You could work with horses, or maybe even consider getting into pet-sitting.

Those are just a few things. Look around and see what you like best.

Good luck!

Why not start working with animals now. Find a local shelter and see about voulenteering a few hours a week. I suggest going into college for Vet Tech or some kind of Vetinary pos. when you get older. If you can't voulenteer try a donation to a local shelter maybe a dog brush litter box food money what ever wouild be usefull around a Animal Shelter because its very hard to keep up with the costs of running a Animal Shelter. Allso, Where i use to live when your 16 you can be a Asst. Zoo Keeper or a Jr. Zoo Keeper check with your parents see if they have any ideas for you to work with animals

You don't mention how old you are now, but if you are old enough, I'd see if you could start by helping out at the local shelter. Lots of puppies, dogs, cats.. all needing love, attention, playtime, clean up time, feeding,.. lotsto do, volunteers needed all the time.

From there, as you age, get good grades.
Aim for a good college.

But first, get some leg work in, read, learn about he animal field. Would you want to be a vet?Or a animal trainer? There are alot of fields in the animal world, begin researching and then you'll find what interests you most. Good luck. The world needs more people to care about animals.

Good question, and a good choice. Doing what you love will help you in life.

When you are older, you could become a vet, a rescue worker, and other things.

But there is also something you can do RIGHT NOW.

Talk to your parents about fostering a dog or cat, ask them if you can volunteer at your local shelter a few hours a week.

And if you can't do that, take all the money from your allowance and go buy supplies for your local shelter. Either that or make a donation.

There are so many opportunities, so you don't have to wait until you are older!

Go see if u can play with the puppies and cats at ur local shelter, ours will let u walk dogs as long as u have an adult w/ u!

I to always wanted to work in a zoo caring for the wild animals.how cool would that be!...however i'm, 25 now with kids. so the schooling i would need would take me to far away from my family.
I wanted to be a vet to....
but i found that I love training i've been working with shelter dogs from the time i was about 8 or 9. so i know that poor training is why most dogs end up at the shelter....if thats not why they are there everyone soon realize how poorly trained most are.

good luck hon.

With out being a Vet? My vet has vet techs that are in high school/ college who get to take care of the animals that are in the kennel area.

When I was younger I volunteered at the local shelter and the Easter Seals Camp they have here. There is a farm and they always need people to help out.

Rescue shelters always need help if you can handle it... if you don't think you can you can work at a pet store, all the cuteness with none of the sick or hurt animals around.

Oh, grooming animals is another way you can work with them... or be a dog walker. There are actual companies that hire people to be doggie nannies.

There are lots of ways to work with animals when you get older. Owning a pet store, becomig a vet ot vet assistant, Majoring in Biology once you get to university opens a huge feild of marine biology or reserch in foreing countries with endangeres species and stuff like that. the best advice I can give you is don't let anyone tell you that its an area thats too hard to work in. It is harder than some feilds but if you love animals then its worth the extra hard work. :)
p.s. I am a biology major who is eventually going to be a vet (and its worth it :) watch lots of animal planet if you have cable. read national geographic and talk to as many people who have aimals jobs as possible to get more ideas. I've learned that jobs are only limited to your imagination :)

There are many possibilities - you could work as a vet, vet tech, or vet assistant. You could become an animal behaviorist, or work at a shelter. You could also be a zoo keeper or animal handler.

It all depends on what interests you most, and what kind of education you'll be able and wiling to go through.

be a vet, thats what i plan on doing when i'm a little bit older (and work at a zoo first). with a shelter to, work at a zoo, work with the aspca, work at a animal shelter, run a pet store. Shelter animals need our help. me and my sister made a site
groups.msn.com/shelterhelpers
we sell things and donate to shelters.

theres MANY ways you can work with animals.
perhaps you'd like to be a vet! but if you get sick at the sight of blood then thats not for you.

you could train animals at seaworld or just in your community! [like people would pay you for classes on how to house train, leash train etc.]

maybe when you turn 16 you can work at petco, petsmart, etc as a summer job! [or maybe even the humain society]

theres SO many options! i'd say start watching animal planet and google 'jobs with animals' to get started!

hope this helped!
