i take it since you are sharing data you have a network setup ?

if so the easiest way is to share the folder / and then map it so it now shows up as a network drive { example i have a document file that i want to share over my network that contains pdf files another that has pictures and yet another that has mp3's } i simply go in to the drive that files are on i create one folder and move all thoise files to that folder and share that folder i then go to tools and then map that folder as network drive now anyone on my network can open the my computer icon on their work station and see this folder as a shared drive .

If you're sharing files, one of you has to basically use the space to hold the file, so the other can leech off from.

Maybe if you don't mean personal space being used, you could think about putting it on a server/website, but then you'd have to pay for the space there.

You can also use external hard drives to physically hold the data, and just hand over the drive to someone...
