This man is a true hero of the people. He is using profits from his countries resources to help the poor, not to line the profits of rich investors. He has truly been elected by his people and after being ousted by a US backed coup, his people took to the streets to get him back. This man could definately become a hero for the US if he were to be put in power. Do people agree?

You need to get your facts straight. First of all he was never 'ousted' in a coup. In fact - he attempted a coup on his own (and failed).

The next thing he is doing is bankrupting his country by destroying the middle class and commercial sectors in order to buy votes from the poor.

And finally - he has just made himself a dictator.

First off, the man is a potential dictator only offering that money to the poor to undermine other governments and leaders. Don't think for a second that someone isn't getting rich from that "offer".

Second of all, this is a moot question because by law he can't run for president because he would have to be a CITIZEN of this country, and I am pretty sure that would include living within the borders of the nation. But I could misunderstand that law. . .

He's a freak, and getting him to lead anything is potentially giving a dictator something to dictate.

Yo dude, read Article II of the Constitution - the part about eligibility to become the President of the United States. In the mean time, lay off what ever you're smoking.

Hugo Chavez should be invited...to spend time in a mental asylum. Yeah, he did all this stuff, but he's a communist. Little by little he is destroying Venezuela's economy, one oil platform at a time. (If I were an oil company I'd burn the platform to the ground before handing it over to him...okay, to the water.) AND he's in bed with Iran. Hello? IRAN! Yeah, nuclear, psychotic, majorly Sharia-law-loving Iran. The people that want to bomb the United States and western culture into the middle ages...And Pres. Tom was saying this before Christmas...these are the people who are blowing up US troops in Iraq. And Chavez is snuggling up to them. What's scary is that Iran is cozy with North Korea. Now there's a match made in hell!

Where do you get your information????

Are you kidding? The lefties here are in a froth because Bush listened to a few cell phone conversations between terrorists. Can you imagine the frenzy they'd go into if he pulled the crap that Chavez has pulled with the Constitution down there?

Should we invite a man who is starving his people to be president? I think not. He has instituted price controls so stringent that producers, transporters, and retailers cannot even break even on food and so they stop selling it.
Hugo Chavez is taking such good care of his people that maybe we should invite him to rule the whole WORLD...

No. He's a disaster waiting to happen in Venezuela. His 'man of the people" reputation is BS. He's making himself look good by throwing crumbs to his base of supporters, most of whom are poor, at the expense of the middle class.

No, he would need to be elected to become US President. That sounds more like a dictatorship. I also have problems with having him insult the Office of the President.

No, the essential reasoning is that it is unconstitutional. He is a hood who sponsors international terrorism. He is an allied to Islam fascism.
