I don't understand how these pedophiles think. Some even say that they've seen the Dateline show when they are chatting with their decoy, but then there they are driving 4 hours to meet a underage kid? WHY?

I agree with the part of them not thinking it will happen to them. They know its a risk but the chances of it happening are so slim. The internet is plum full of pedophiles, so in comparison of how many are out there and how many actually are caught are almost like comparing black and white. For some, the idea of getting caught, the risk involved in taking that chance, is a turn on for them. They don't want to be caught, but they get a rush from the danger of it. A few, very few, hope they do get caught. They know what they are doing is wrong, but don't have the self control to stop. So they figure "I get caught, I get some time in prison sure, but the state(tax payers) will pay for my treatment". Its a sick mind alright...

They dont know. Its just that there really paranoid about it but dont think the odds are that they will get caught. So when they do its just a reaction to say that they knew. Also after they get in the house they probably sense that something is up and that is when they know.
