Not at all, some babies start off slow with the formula, others dive right in. Plus you need to take into account that your little one had a low birth weight, so, he is just making up for what he lost. At two months old my son was drinking 8 oz every three to four hours. Don't worry. As long as your son doesn't have any problems holding down the formula, let him eat away. Good luck

I have a 2 month old and he was drinking 8 oz every 4 hours. Just found out he has reflux, and started med. yesterday and he has cut back on what he is eating. My baby was 5 weeks premature weighed 6lbs 9oz when he was born then 6lbs 3 oz when he left hospital. He went through a big growth spurt and now weighs 10lbs 12 oz. Every baby is different!
Here is a article I found for you!

From the age of 2 months to 6 months, you should be feeding your baby 4 to 6 ounces at a feeding, and he'll take in 23 to 32 ounces a day.

If he weighs 10 pounds, he should drink around 25 ounces in a 24-hour period.

It's a little too much but I wouldn't say it's dangerously excessive. Try diluting the formula a bit if you think he's getting too many calories or he gets stomach cramps. Formula comes out of a bottle much easier and faster than milk from the breast. Your baby is probably drinking too fast and his brain isn't registering fast enough when he's full. Try giving him 3 oz then waiting several minutes before giving him more. He may just need a few minutes afterwards to feel full.

No that is not too much. As long as they are keeping it down then it will be ok. My son was taking 6oz when he was 2 months and i was worried that it was too much and my doctor told me as long as they are not spitting it up to much then it is fine. Don't worry, feed that baby!

Honestly, if he was that small, I'd say let him eat whatever his little heart desires. I know when I had my daughter, who is now 17 months, they said to not withhold formula before 4 months...especially if they were born underweight. So if he's hungry, let the little tyke eat!! GOOD LUCK!

Do not worry about over feading, she is probably having a growth spurt and is wanting more food. FEED YOUR BABY AS MUCH AS SHE WANTS!

I do not think it is too much formula... Babies have to grow and have a lot of nutrients...

Babies won't eat if they're not hungry, so you should be fine.
