I have an ftp site set up for clients to access files. One client is using a Mac, instead of a PC. When she goes to the site, before she even gets a username prompt, she gets a "530 Login Incorrect" error.

As I have never used a Mac before, can anyone tell me if there is anything different about accessing an ftp site from a Mac as compared to accessing it from a PC?

I agree with the comment above me, there really shouldn't be anything different except the programs needed to access the FTP.

She could try Fetch and see if that helps with the problem.

There's a Mac OS 9 version if that is the case.

Its probably not because she is on a mac but instead it is being cause d by the browser she is using. If I knew which one I could tell you. Just have her use Firefox if she isn't already and things should clear up, if not she can get an FTP program for the mac and access it that way. The FTP program will always prompt her for Password and Login.

Almost forgot, if its SFTP then you probably want to have your clients access through a program anyway. If its normal FTP then man, you need to start thinking about security, and also it should work. Theres also the issue of how old her system may be, if its brand new she is doing something wrong, if its old like Mac OS 9 then she NEEDS to upgrade.

i do no longer supply a f*ck what different persons use. I in basic terms use a computer reason i can handle to pay for. i do no longer f*ckin care if somebody else makes a decision to apply a mac. that would not result me. using a mac does no longer make you a snob. absolutely everyone who tells you what to apply is an @$$hollow!
