South Manchester is best for the University.

You have Rusholme (on the curry mile... but a bit of a dive around there tbh)

Then Fallowfield... nice old well built houses... tree lined roads... but quietier... sometimes a little spookily quiet if your walking alone down side roads at night.

Then Didsbury... really vibrant area... nice town center... mix of professionals and students... bars, coffee houses ect... pretty trendy... but ofc the rental price for that area goes upwards a bit. Didsbury Village is about 15 minutes bus ride from the city center.

Avoid Levenshulme ect... can be a bit rough around there (less students).

Get in touch with the Studen's Union; they have a list of appropriate places to pass on.
