Haha you dont need a wireless nic in your printer..
Simply connect your printer to your desktop if you have one.
Install the printer on the to your desktop computer (meaning install the drivers). After this is done, go to control panel, printers and then right click on the printer you just installed. Go to properties and find the sharing tab.. go ahead and create a share name for this printer and press enter.
Now the big part is, you have to make sure both your desktop computer and laptop are on the same workgroup or its gonna be hell trying to have them communicate. To do this. Right Click on my Computer and click on properties (or if you press Start + Pause/Break) it should bring up the system properties screen. Go to computer Name (tab) and check the workgroup name. Click on change and give it a name and do the same on the laptop.
Restart both computers and log in. Now go on the laptop and go to add printers.. Add network printer and browse for you printer.. it should be displayed under your workgroup. You might have to install the drivers on your laptop depending on what type of printer it is.
FYI: your desktop that has the printer attached to it has to be on for your laptop to print to the printer.
Now if you think this is a lot of work then you can buy a print server and save yourself 10mins:)
Goodluck

If your printer is connected to a desktop, and assuming that desktop is also part of your wireless network, you first need to go onto the desktop, printer setup, and choose "make available to the network" (no, it's "share printer" on a right click as Patrick says below). Then you can go onto your laptop and choose "add a network printer" from the Tools menu, and add \\Derek\printername (where Derek is the network name of your desktop).

Depends on your printer.
Belkin make a wifi adapter to connect your USB printer to the wifi ethernet... so do a couple of other companies.
Not seen any devices to connect parallel or serial printers to wifi networks.
There's an expensive way to do it... get a wired ethernet to printer adapter (eg an HP jet Direct external) and a wired ethernet to wifi (buffallo sell one) - but you're lokking at much more than the cost of a cheap printer for this.
Alternatively... use a wired ethernet to printer adapter and plug that into your router (assuming your ADSL router has ethernet and wifi)... then you print to the network via the router and the adapter.
