Newport News.com I am 27 myself and love to shop. I go EVERYWHERE! However, if you are looking for decent quality clothes that are fairly trendy wait until they have a huge sale. The nice part is that you can order everything you like and they will take clearance back. They also have sales where the shipping is free (both ways). You can have an entirely new wardrobe for around $200.00 if you time it right. Just because I am a shop-a-holic dosent mean that I have money to waste. Also if you do decide to shop with Newport news I will give you a hint. Make sure to look in the catalogs and online. You may find that the price is different in 3 different catalogs and then differnet still on the web page all for the same item. They will all have different item numbers (for the same item). Choose the cheepest one and you will get the product at that price. Happy shopping.

Honestly...don't be afraid of thrift stores. You can find some very nice things there. They have name brands galore...the trick is..you have to go there when you have some time because its best to dig. Some of my best finds have been stuck between some horrid things.
Also, do you have a sewing machine? Patterns and some fabric can be cheap. And it's fun too. Start with something simple like scarfs and a-line skirts. You'd be surprised how simple it is.
Pay attention to sales. Sometimes Macy's will have super sales. And you can get $80 jeans for $10. Note: I have found that usually the sales will be with changing seasons. If you want pants...go when spring's almost here or summer...they will usually have sales on the winter things. And vice versa.
Learn ebay. Yeah you can get some pricey things. But I've gotten a few 50s dresses for $7! The tax is usually at about $5. So that still comes to only $12 you can't find that at a store!

We have a Christian Outreach Ministry in our community where people take their slightly used clothing, household items, furniture, toys, etc. and we also have a Good Will that is HUGE. When things are tight at our house, I always check there first. I have gotten name brands, (Levi, Gap, Abercrombie, Nike, etc) for both of my children. My son wants to go this weekend to look for sport coats. Also try consignment stores, some stores will give you credit or cash for the items that you turn in that you can use to purchase other items from their store. All the rich people in our community take their stuff to the outreach store or Good Will. Give it a try!

TJ Max, they have a variety of brand name clothes at very cheap prices..but in reality you need to know how to dress something inexpensive and make it look a million bucks..is all about simple, clean class...think ann taylor, banana republic, leave the rest for young teens or 20's girls right now you should look regal not desperate.

Try shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. You can look thru fashion magazines to get ideas of what you like by famous designers and then try to find knock-offs at the bargin stores.

I am also a single mother of four. Go to Gabriel Brothers if they are in your area. They have name brands, but might be missing a buttom or something. I find lots of nice things at a fraction of the price.

Walmart... I know sounds crazy...but I'm a single mom and I have a sense of style, but not the budget...so I headed to Walmart and score big...No one knows the difference between Metro 7 and Banana Republic...make sure to accessorize and walk sexy and confident...that always helps... Good luck.
