Occupying? Hardly.
Germany/France = totally agree
Bosnia/Kosovo = still kind of necessary for peacekeeping
Japan = strategic for China & Taiwan
Korea = you're kidding, right?

I didn't realize that we were fighting insurgents in Germany lately. is there a huge contingent of fighting in any of these countries? Do we get a daily death toll from the servicemen in France?
What a ridiculous argument.
According to that, the US is being "occupied" by Lichtenstein because we have a couple of their troops here training in various exercises.

We're not occupying. A formal agreement between the countries you mentioned and the U.S. was made to allow a military installlation to be built there.

Because expenditures to support our military is very big business....................................
Besides, if we didn't spend all that taxpayer money on overpriced military hardware we probably would be spending it on trivialities such as:
1. Restoring the solvency of our social security system.
2. Bringing our troops out of harm's way by returning them to the USA where they could protect every inch of our border from illegals, smugglers, and terrorists - instead of protecting foreign interests.
3. Funds for medical coverage for all.
4. Funding an "America First" drive - that is long overdue.
"Give until it hurts" is great, but "Give until it destroys you" is not!

Because we need a base of operations for the countries we want to invade in the future. You see, Bush and Cheney plan ahead . . . They're SMART - just kidding.
