People usually dream about what they think about during the day, or what they are obsessed about. I don't know the true answer. But I wll tell you a true story about my Father who passed away many years ago.
My niece had a dream that my father came to her in a dream and told her that he owed a certain person money. He told her his name and asked that she please pay him back for him It was a nominal sum, not that much. She looked up this person, and found him, she told him that so, and so came to her in a dream that he owed him money. He said oh yes, she wanted to know for sure if the man was telling the truth, and she asked him how much money does he owe you. He told her the amount, and it was the same amount my father had told her in the dream. So she knew it was true, and she paid him back for my father.
So, I do believe that people who have passed away do try to connect.
Sweet dreams.

Probably not. You are still processing your friend's death and will be for years. It's part of the grieving process. Your dreams allow your fears and hopes to take flight. It's like opening your hands to let a bird fly. And away they go. Your dreams release worries, tension, allow the crazy "what if's" that your rational mind won't allow you. It's a lovely escape to dream. But it's just that. A dream.
I'm sorry for the painful loss of your friend.

I had a friend that commited suicide and I think I had dreams about him for a solid year. I have no idea what they mean, probably we miss them so much and even though we dont know it they are on our minds. Its been over 20 years and I still miss my friend.

Maybe he is not necessarily trying to connect with you, maybe you are trying to connect with him. Usually when someone close to you dies you have bottled up emotions of what ifs and things that were left unsaid; its natural. When my relatives die i usually have a dream about them afterword. It can be comforting.
I hope you feel better and I am sorry about your friend.

You are trying to connect. If you dream of dead friend or relative you are sub conciously looking for an answer to a real life question. Your mind brings in your friend/relative to show you the answer.

its a tough question to ask in such an era!! But it is worth to share.
And not like other answers i should say that souls are the part of life and no one is untouched by this experience. It matters from person to person to believe but its true. we are always connected with people who died n who were close to us.

Maybe??? There may have been something that he wanted you to know while he was alive but was unable to tell you. Write your dreams down right after you wake up. Then later when you have time read them. You find something that he wanted you to know or something that you needed to tell him and your mind is trying to deal with that.

It could be. Read "Touched By Heaven's Light", a book about contact with the dead.
But it could also just be that you miss him and so you dream about him.
