Yes, it is an obscure poem by Alastair Langsdon entitled "Rocking at the Woolworth's". The complete text is:

Rocking at the Woolworth's

The rocking horse sat abandoned for a year,
In Woolworth's window forgotten near the rear
And Jake, the homeless man would stand and leer,
He'd think 'bout what he do if that horse were his,
And with a bit of rum, he'd think maybe he 'tis,

At Christmas, Jake devised a scheme
to free the lonely steed,
Cause if he freed the horse,
He'd free his dreams,

They found him cold and dead on Christmas day,
A broken man astride a wooden bay

You may find my tale bazaar
But I see Jake a riding from afar
Yes, I see Jake a riding for a star

[Some poems are best consigned to obscurity. Still, you asked so here it is.]
