Who says evil doers enjoy their lives? Just because they live in mansions, smoke fancy cigars, and drive nice cars...does not mean that they are experiencing joy.

Good people are not always suffering either.

Let's look at the Holocaust as a huge example of this, a horrible horrible event that shouldn't have happened, but what became of it?

Adolph Hitler whipped up a frenzy of hatred that eventually cost him his own life. The Nazi party was a political party, where, if you didn't participate, you didn't feed your family. So a lot of people joined the Nazi party out of fear. They did horrible things, and some knew it was wrong. How much did they enjoy life? They didn't. They didn't know true joy, they were in the hands of a monster and they were obligated for the most part, to follow orders.

The Jews on the other hand, definitely suffered at the hands of the Nazis. No doubt about it. But they were people of faith who died in the arms of their Creator. And those who lived, found ways to celebrate their faith amongst themselves. They found humor, they found happiness, they appreciated the little things, they appreciated each other.

So I think there are two ways to look at each group here. While the Nazis had all the power, it ate them from the inside out. No joy. While the Jews suffered without power, many found a way to experience joy inside despite what was going on around them. They celebrated their faith as they grieved their losses.

Besides all this, I think you are looking at a micro timeline...most every major body of thought talks about some sort of justice, a form of judgement, some sort of accounting for what you have done on a very grand scale. I think it is the powerless who actually have the most power.

Unfortunately, suffering is a part of life. ALL people suffer to some degree. Suffering has brought out the best that there is in people. Look at the life of the Buddha. Until he pursued a path of suffering, he was unable to see truth....unable to obtain wisdom. It was only through suffering that he was able to go from being a prince and transform into a great and wise man.

You will not get answer for this "eternal" question from any scientific quarter. In the eastern philosophy there is this "karma" theory which comes close to explaining this IF you believe in it.

The assumption in this philosophy is that only the body and the mind dies but the soul is eternal. There is rebitrh for the soul which takes up another body in another life. However whatever action the body and the mind did ( action) there will be consequenses and the soul carries it along with it. If you did good it helps you and if you did not so good you still get the reactions of your doing.

The corollary is that if you ( we) continue to do good in our present life the results of your action will stand in good stead .

Evil doers are not enjoying life. They only want people to believe they are enjoying what they are doing. Doing evil has no reward. We can only pity evil doers - they are wretched, miserable people - whose deeds are only a search for what is truth, because they cannot accept what truth says about them. Their actions only give them 3 options in life - they can quit doing evil and accept truth, they can end up in a prison, or they can die a horrible death with nothing to show for their life.

Well, I once heard, "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." This seems like a messed up quote, but everyone is going to suffer sooner or later. I feel sorry for your friends. But don't worry, I think they will be one of the very few people who will go to heaven. No worries! And good luck to your friends.

what kind of life evil doers have on this earth doesn't matter, what matters is what kind of everlasting life they have, and what kind of everlasting life the people that do good and believe in God will have. there will be a great difference. we are only on this earth for a short time. the only thing you can take with you is what you give to God now.

Suffering and sacrafice shows your true strenght. God can show his power through the weakest people if they'll let Him. This world doesn't make much since to me, but if you try to follow God's will for your life, it's not nearly as confusing. People who have it the easy way are not going to have it easy forever. I hope that's the answer you were looking for.
