How about:

Contemporary society has thrust us into a high-tech culture where the ability to interact with computers and software is a requirement to everyday living. Computers are found in nearly every aspect, from the giant mainframes controlling billions of phone calls or trillions of dollars in bank transactions to the wristwatch that can calculate ambient tempurature or heart rates. It is vital, therefore, that people are able to interact with gamut of computer applications they contact to understand and interact with the world around them. Not only is it a requirement but, if embraced, can make people's lives easier and save an incredible amount of time.

From here you need to tell the reader how computers are vital, give some examples where people can not live without computers (maybe traffic computers that keep people safe) then give examples where it makes lives easier (perhaps being able to use the internet for online shopping when someone is handicapped) and then examples where it can save time (like being able to use computers to process scientific data that would be impossile by hand).

Good luck.

1. Learn proper capitalization.
2. We don't "belong" to a world. It doesn't "own" us. We are "in" it.
3. "A computer is", not "Computer is".
4. "Computer skills are", not "Computer skills is". Better yet, "Certain skills are important in using a computer."
5. Instead of "for us to be easy in doing" try "for us easily to participate in"; omit the phrase "when doing a thing".
6. "Microsoft Excel" is a product. It helps you "work with numbers."
7. Start a new paragraph at "For instance". This will make for easier reading.
