Well being I am from Illinois, you pronounce it without the s at the end. Don't be embarrassed. Many people get the pronounciation wrong.

The "s" is silent, so you say it Illinoy.

Ill-i-noy (no "s" sound).
Chicago is pronounced - Shy-kay- go. Kelly Bundy explained that.

This is the cause of great confusion in our country as well.
Some say Ill-I-Noise
and some say Ill-i-Noy
Personally, I drop the "S" as silent and go with Ill-i-noy
