Your CPU wouldn't get faster, but the computer as a whole would get faster.

With a new video card, whatever processing needs to be done by the video card would be faster. It may even be able to take over more processing functions (for video) from the CPU, leaving the CPU to do other things (and that would seem faster to you).

With more memory, swapping out programs and data to disk would not be done as often, as more stuff can be loaded into (more) memory. Memory access is on the order of 100,000 times faster than disk access, so again, things seem to work faster.

With a core duo cpu you should get respectable performance unless your running too many apps or have spyfiles. You could put a bigger cpu in if you want to spend that kind of money. If you have a 5400rpm hard drive a 7200rpm would also help but, of course, you'd have to reinstall your OS which might be too much of a pain and expense too. Don't even bother with a bigger cpu unless its at least 2 Ghz or bigger and, even then, you may not see the performance bump you're looking for. Adding ram helps with mutlitasking but not with speed(unless you are multi-tasking). If you could run faster ram than what you had in it and yanked the slow ram out and loaded it up with the fastest 2 gigs it could handle then youd get a speed bump. Try installing the latest video drivers and updates, uninstalling any old progs you dont use then do a disc cleanup followed by a defrag(do defrag last so you dont frag your drive all over when you uninstall progs) and go into msconfig startup and uncheck any programs you dont need starting up and running all the time.

If you add ram all your doing is allowing more memory to be used on a chip rather then the hard drive. I would generally say yes it would make things load faster but I am not sure if you are going to get a a drastic improvement versus a small one. Adding a faster video card only helps if you are performing heavy graphic.

No your CPU will not get faster, but it will perform better. Adding more RAM and a better video card will help free up some of the RAM that is being used to help the video card. Your computer will seem faster but it will still only be the 2.66GHz that you purchased.

it would make the computer itself run smoother. And the GeForce 7600 would take a load off the processor b/c it has its own memory and processor called GPU (graphics processing unit). If you have 512Mb or less memory now and you upgrade to 1Gb then you will notice a big difference.

you CPU wont get faster, but your computer as a whole will run more efficiently with more memory. The graphics card add on will only help if you are doing intense graphic stuff. General internet and computer usage won't necessarily benefit from it.

No your CPU speeds stays the same, but general speeds improve because u have more RAM to work with, so it can handle bigger and more applications. Also the new videocard ensures a better experience

The CPU would not be faster, but you would experience a faster computer. And no, the GHz would not increase.

it wont get any faster than it is unless you tweak it, but an additional Gig of memory and a better video card isnt a bad idea. You have a 128mb or 256mb vid card atm?
