Seriously, they ARE(or were last night I havn't checked if buffalo won lastnight) the best team in the NHL. Just because their from the south doesnt mean their bad. The PLAYERS arnt from Tennessee, it's people who say things like that, that don't deserve to be hockey fans. Hockey is about diversity, you have players from every part of the world! And Nahville has some of the best players in the leauge. Now Im not saying they have the BEST players but guys likee Paul Kariya are pretty good.

And Nashville has great fan support, almost all their games are sellouts. Sure they don't get to much promotion from the media but who cares? Their fans know about them.

And lastly yes I AM a predators fan and have been since 98-99 and so on. I even have an autographed jersey from the captain Tom Fitzgerald at the first Meet-n-greet. And this was before the stupid yellow jersey. Back when white was the home color. I am not a bandwagoner in anyway shape or form. Thanks all.

Are you looking for the truth, or someone to just say PREDS #1?

The truth. The team is in Nashville, TN. With that you are going to get bias and prejudice against the team, city, state and the South.

The fact is that hockey draws more attention and support in the north which includes Canada. Another fact is that the team in the Western Conference. As in any American sport, there is an East Coast bias.

I'm originally from Buffalo; I support the Sabres and don't give too much attention to the haters, except maybe to stir things up.

I say support your team and tell the haters to Go to Hell with their insults and slurs.

Works for me being a Sabres and Bills fan.

The NHL counts giveaway tickets in their numbers. On Hockey Night in Canada they mentioned that the Predators are really around 60 to 70% actual tickets sold. Not good for a #1 team.

Plus as much fan support is good but what a team really needs is the corporate support. They are the ones that buy the boxes and really puts the money in the league.

It really isn't fair to compare the Southern teams to the Canadian ones because we've been living and dying with this sport since we were able to strap on skates at the age of 2. The sport is too new down there. I think that if someone was in charge that actually cared about hockey and the business side was secondary then I think the USA would appreciate the game a lot more than it is right now.

In defense of soutehrn Hockey:

Its a new sport here. People often don't know a hockey team exists, I'll give you that. However, the whole new fan thing is working. with southern teams starting to win the cup, people around them are starting to take notice. People around here are learning bout hockey, and following it. It's no so much a bandwagon effect as it is people learning about the sport and there is team. Carolina Really took off in 2002. Why? They made te news in a big way (even though they didn't win).

Tampa's cup win relly helped open up the NHL in the south. People started following it.

People complain that hockey is dying, but don't want to go get new fans to save it. That's what the south provides- more Fans to help keep the sport alive.

A nashville win woudl be agood thing for the region, but as a Carolinai Fan, I have to say Buffalo is long overdue. They deserve it this year, unless they play against us, in which case we deserve a second cup (at least a shot at it).

The NHL team in Nashville is awesome, and I am a Sabres fan. It is a crime that the people in Tennessee don't give a damn about them. It is a shame. Put that exact same team in Quebec or Hamilton and it sells out the rest of the season easily. But there is hope. Caroline got religion last year, and the same can happen to Nashville. People love an exciting playoff run. If Nashville makes it as far as the semifinals, Nashville, a fun loving town, will embrace them, and will into next season, which looks to continue the roll they are on. See you in the semis

I am a PREDATORS fan im Pa. Bought an Authentic jersey before they had any players signed. Got 2 hats, a pillow, blanket too
They went about building that team the right way.
Playoff games last year were sellouts.
Playoff games three years ago against Detriot were sellouts.

Let everyone in the media ignore them/trash them ... better to be under the radar than in the spotlights.

I don't know why people lump Nashville in with all of the other recent expansion teams from the South. From day one I think they built their team the right way. In the expansion draft, they didn't touch too many veterans that would be gone quickly and they have drafted some pretty good players and were patient in their development. Added some inexpensive but good free agents off NHL scrapheap like Sullivan.
It's also amazing they have stuck with Trotz (sp?) in this day and age of the coaching carousel.
Being a Detroit fan, we have seen Nashville get better and better each season, and now are reaping the rewards.

Evolutionarily speaking, it is not risky. Our statuatory rape regulations are set up in one among those way that outlaws loose determination for youthful women folk. i'm sorry, yet 18 is merely too old. there is not any longer something approximately being fascinated in a sixteen or 17 12 months old that makes somebody a pedophile. Pedophiles like women folk that are no longer developed yet (usually youthful than 12). The age of consent somewhat could desire to be sixteen years of age. "the right age to strengthen a flag, the right age to look after the fortress" Edit: and why do such lots of girls folk think of that adult males like virgins lots? and notice it as a conquest? i could desire to have neglected that.

No clue, the Preds are one of the best teams in the league, but they will need to win a few playoff series before people take them more seriously.

they dont sell out. considering the record they should draw many more. when the team isnt as good the attenence will drop. dallas is a good example that new markets can work but they were a good team when they moved there. people will go to new things but if the team isnt good they will stop before they take the time to learn the sport.

14k average for fans is not selling out almost all their games....actually, they've probably sold out very few. And the fact that they ARE the best team in the NHL and only drawing 14k average is why theyre fan base is considered "worthless". They're playing at 84% capacity, not too impressive support for the top team in the NHL. At least Columbus averages 16k and we SUCK lol
