I heard on the news last night that a law in Iraq was going to be passed allowing other countries to manage Iraq's oil drilling & supplies.

Bearing in mind that countries like the US & UK will take advantage of this - has it changed people's views on the war / people saying that it was all about oil in the first place?

Wrong.

The contracts will go to whatever companies offer Iraq the best deal.

Companies from all nations will be competing for these contracts.

Who has passed that law, a government set up by the two B's
Might as well say USA and UK is allowing the management of Iraq's oil to other countries. No wonder there's such savage fighting going on there, their country is being raped by the west.

Those that want to believe that is was all about oil, will continue to do so. I am not sure whether Iraq extracts its own oil and then transports it in crude form by pipeline or by container ship, or, whether it has any refining facilities of its own.

I held a private opinion, that the US, as part of its war on terror, really wanted to have a go at the Saudis, because they were the chief funders and promoters of anti western propaganda. An essential part of this strategy would be to secure for themselves a major alternate supply. Iraqi oil seemed to fit the bill.

The war was about oil but more to do with the fact that Saddam was going to start selling it in euros instead of dollars, this would have had a detrimental affect on the price of the dollar and Americas economy would not have been able to cope.
America is the number 1 debtor nation in the world.

I'm not saying you did not hear this, but what I heard was that Iraq was going to divide the oil revenues among Iraqi elements, and no foreign governments were involved.

I knew from the beginning that's what this war was all about,
when Bush went to Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia (where the terrorists were from) It's always been their goal (Bush and Cheney) to share in the revenues from the Iraqi oil wells.
They live, eat, drink and breathe greed. They should be impeached for what they have done to this country.

It was always all about the oil. US and UK will want their war costs reimbursed and will now help themselves to the oil to take payment.

Iran is next. Get the oil quick before they develop nuclear weapons to defend themselves!
