Ideologies no more, class politics is no longer an issue, left and right wing parties converging to the centre..there seems to be no active cause to hang on to, except for maybe a passive discontent with the current government and a distaste for the current UK and american foreign policy. Has British politics reached a stale mate?

MIND BLOWING QUESTION.

Politicians have no idea how to run this country, it's time to form a new party. Who with me?

I can't see that happening anytime soon, unless there is a collective lobotomy amongst the American population (no offence intended...) At present, there is far too much dissention between parties, and frankly, I think that people WANT to hang on to that. They seem to thrive on it. As well, there is an overwhelming obsession with so much that means so little. Priorities are way out of whack, and the pre-occupation with so-called celebrity has taken over the consciousness of the US.

You speak of a world that, on the surface, sounds utopian. But it speaks of apathy and resignation to me.

The UK and the US suffer from the same thing-too many sheeple, not enough people.

The vast majority just putter along, letting the powers that be decide what's best for them, too wrapped up in the latest Posh Spice or Britney Spears sighting, and wondering what size flat-screen they ought to get,to really care about what goes on in the world.

YES. It now comes down to perception. People will vote not for those with the better policies, but those who they identify with, like and instinctively trust. There is a decided lack of relevance in party politics in the UK.

OUTSTANDING QUESTION!

We have turned politicians into celebrities.

Time to shake things up. Amend the constitutions and institute term limits for members of Congress.

I hope the UKIP is contesting, and I hope, please God, it will win many votes and seats.
