Black History was celebrated. Is this guy so worried That the hoildays where you are encouraged to get drunk is downplayed over a month where people of any race are encouraged to learn about a specific culture and great acheivements that people in history have made. We learn about all types of history (mainly American and European) all year long. So lets not be selfish, rude or inconsiderate and just learn to be appreciate what every culture has to offer that is positive.
That is my PSA for today.
Thank you.

I really don't know why people make a big deal about Black HM. I really think that we should want to know more abou history period. Some people just don't care about any thing though. I give credit where credit is due rather Black white etc.. Others feel that they don't have to, Blacks have been a great force in American History. We will never get recognized for what we all know we have accomplished. I know there are some other accomplishments we have done and others take credit for. But we can't even get recognition for what is on record as accomplishments. Sad but very true. That's why I rely on God to give me my pats on the back. Heck some black people still won't give black people honor.
Example: Oprah, most people still look at her as a sell out because she won't buy them a house, car, etc... "she won't pay for me to go to School" but she'll do for Africans overseas. In my opinion she has done so much good and accomplished sooo much and Black people still frown on her.
She truly defines "Giving Back"
We have been given opportunity(most we had to take by force). I say no one has to tell me its my month because I'm going to use every month God blesses me with to do good and be successful rather or not they ever say Good Girl!!
Be encouraged!!

I couldn't have said this any better. People always have to make something negative out of a positive. I don't understand what is so wrong about learning about the black leaders that helped get us to where we are today. When I say "us", I'm talking about whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, indians, etc. We have all contributed to society and everyone should be recognized for that.

But I guess getting drunk and acting like a total fool is such a positive message to show the next generation.

How many people know which is Asian Pacific Heritage Month? It's May. But your point is well-taken and I always enjoy learning about other cultures. Too bad this was the shortest month of the year. Coincidence?
