The interval is (-∞ , 3)

7. -1 + 3x > -8 implies that 3x > -9 or x > -3
-2 ≤ x + 4 implies that -6 ≤ x

Unite (-3, ∞ ) and [-6, ∞ ) and you'll get [-6, ∞ )

8. x - 3 ≤ 2 implies x ≤ 5
-x / 3 < 2 implies -x < 6 or x > -6

The intersection of the two intervals is:
(-6, 5]
