We do, we are in our 40's and 50's, very youthful, extremely fit, and have great attitudes. We are a very zestful couple that loves to dance and have drinks out on the town once or twice a month. We are very comfortable around anybody and have younger people that love to dance with us.
Lately, we have friends our age and younger telling us that we need to grow up and that we should act like grownups. Well I politely told these friends that WE CHOOSE NOT TO SIT AT HOME AND ROT like some people we know. I went on further to say we do not plan on having one foot in the grave anytime soon. I went on even further to tell this couple that it is awfully tacky to be telling grown-ups and friends how to live their life.
As a 45 and 55 y/o, are we screwed up for going out and having fun once or twice a month? I think not.
I personally think that some of our friends are jealous that they are fat couch potatoes with no zest. I say it's time to find new like minded friends.

You dont require an answer. You have them all. Do whatever you choose to do. You're both happy with your lifestyle. There's nothing wrong with doing what you both love doing. You'll slow down when you feel it's necessary. Until then, ENJOY to the fullest!

It is their problem, not yours. Most people in their 40's and 50's often lead a sedate life so when they see some one living live to the fullest, they get jealous. I believe it is jealousy.
Sounds like you need new friends. I would drop any friend that would come at me like that.
Keep dancing and keep partying if that is what you enjoy.

Speaking from the same age group
My grand kids love both my dune buggies, 21 cuddy cabin boat, etc. almost all our friends a younger as the older friends no longer relate.
So do what you do and enjoy the hell out of it. Were all going to die sooner or later. But you'll carry me out with a smile on my face ;}

life is short...if you enjoy it...keep doing it. As for your friends who don't agree, just don't bother inviting them with you 2.
