You should check this sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

Er... please, DON'T get people to stretch you.
O.o
wtf?
I have the same problem and it's a recurring one. Slipped disc - mine sometimes presses the nerve causing sciatic pain as well.
There is a set of excercises which can be obtained from your GP. these will strengthen you back muscles and help it happen again in future but i'm afraid all you can do at the moment is ride it out. paracetamol for the pain and ibuprofen for any inflamation. A nice warm waterbottle will relax the muscle too.
Before I learned about it, I'd sometimes make it worse by sitting in a slouched position. this feels like it will help at the time but it's better for you if you try to get your back into its natural position. look at a picture of a spinal chord. it curves in towards your waist then out again towards the shoulder blades. try to keep it like this.
You probably know (sorry) that standing up/going up or down stairs is very painful, but if you straighten you back before you try these it should be much less painful for you.
It'll proably be worse when you first get up too, sleeping with a little cushion in the small of your back (if you sleep on your back) will help (or under your waist if you sleep on your side).

The majority of simple disc problems in the back will eventually recover but the symptoms associated with a disc herniation can be helped by a combination of moving in the correct way , doing certain types of exercise and occasionally manipulation. Many disc problems do not need manipulation or surgery and can be successfully treated by the suffer themself if they know what to do. The best way to find a balanced approach to treating the problem is to see a physiotherapist.

There's a brilliant book called "Treat Your Own Back", by a New Zealand physiotherapist called Robin MC Kenzie. A hospital physiotherapist recommended it to me. You can get it from Spinal Publications LTD., P.O. Box 275, West Byfleet, Surrey K14 6ET U.K. It changed my life!! Best Wishes.

Either go to a chiropractor.
OR....
get two people to LITERALLY STRETCH you!
You lie on your back on a firm bed.
One holds you from under your chin, and under your head...
the other your feet.
And they both pull you "apart"....
This will cause your spine to stretch and the dislodged disc will click back into place.
MAKE SURE THE TWO PEOPLE ARE QUITE STRONG.
It takes A LOT of strength to do this.
and also, the "pullers" must pull you horizontally straight (not on an angle of any sort)

STOP the football until you have seen Doctor and had treatment, if you dont they do quite a good range of wheel chairs these days as you will only make things alot worse.

I would recommend that you relax and take it easy. When you cause damage to your back, it is cumulative and you dont know what further damage you may be causing yourself, I would consult your doctor as soon as possible.
