I just formatted and installed windows xp, with service pack 2, and every possible update microsoft has. I have not installed any hardware, it is the same hardware I've been using for 3 years, the drivers for all my hardware are up to date. I just recently had my computer crash, and finally got it fixed, but after fixing it, the same problems are occuring. The computer keeps shutting down, then I get a message, windows has recovered from a serious error. not only that, but I'll try and listen to my music, with winamp, or windows media player, and they will both "cause unexpected errors" and need to close, I can't even run a game, and I had it almost beat before I wiped out my harddrive, so I have run it before, it just sends me back to the windows desktop, if anyone has any ideas, or advice, I'm lost, please help.

Thanks.

My computer did the exact same thing, and they told me that my ati graphics driver was corrupt. I just got a new computer, and didn't fix the old one.

At this point, I would wipe it down and rebuild again. The symptoms are too broad to diagnose an easier fix.
