You cant, she has to want to do it herself. You could try and give her an incentive like... If she gives up you'll give her a diamond for every cigarette she doesn't have! But as that probably wont happen then you'll just need to put up with it. xx

You can't. If she really wants to, the most effective way (for me) is the new drug Chantix. I've had no problems, and the only time I've wanted a stinky cig was last weekend (its been a helluva stressful move), but I've been smoke'free for 54 days now.
If not drugs, accupuncture was the second-best thing I ever tried to stop smoking.
BTW, I was smoking 30-40 cigs a day for the last 15 years.

OK if you love her you will accept her for her you have to take the good with the bad. If you keep bugging her about it she will just resent you and she will never quit. If you love her and accept her and she loves you she will know that it bothers you and she will try and quit on her own. Nobody can get anyone to quit smoking they have to want to be able to quit on their own. Every girlfriend I have ever had has tried to get me to quit and I tried but they would get mad when I start up again. If she does quit she will more than likely start up again it takes most people several times to quit before they finally quit. You have to be loving and understanding and very supportive.
And to all you non smokers answering questions all smokers know the dangers of smoking we hear it every day.

Print out all the bad things that are in them and then tell her what each one of them do to her body. Get pictures of before and after of people who smoked. Or, if you really can't stand it give her an altimative... Quit or walk away from her.

You cannot make someone quit smoking if they don't want to quit. Your best bet is to be supportive if she says she wants to quit and to spend time in places where smoking is not allowed like restaurants and movie theaters. Also set some guidlines such as no smoking in the car or wherever.

You can't, if you convince her to quit she won't be quitting for herself and it won't stick. Also, if she's not quitting for her own reasons, when she's craving that nicotine she's not going to have as much willpower. One more thing to think about, if you give her an ultimatum or an incentive she's more likely to end the entire thing, rather than give up something that she needs.

Roll up little messages about why to quit and put them in her cig pack such as:
"You'll get lung cancer!"
"Your hair smells like smoke"
"Kissing you is like licking an ash tray"
You can be gentle or harsh...depending on what type of criticism your gf best reacts to.
Have her visit www.whyquit.com
Nice stories and pics of people with lung cancer and heart disease and mouth cancer and all that good stuff that happens when you smoke!

You can't make her quit she has to want to quit, my husband quit and thought he could make me quit, I can't make him quit drinking beer and he can't make me quit smoking, just like you can't make someone loose weight, you can threaten them, but in the long run you will loose out, it has to come from the person, all addictions are the same, If another person could make the change for someone there would be a lot less smokers and drinkers out there. So to answer your question.. YOU CAN'T!

She needs to see how she will look and feel when she is older. Granted she feels invincible at her age but all the money she will spend and all the destruction she does to her body must be mentioned daily to her!

You can ask her, but speaking from experience don't nag her about it. I am a smoker myself I have tried to quit many times but to no avail. It has to be something she wants to do on her own.
Just tell her you love her and don't want to loose her.
