Often on this site, if you ask a question using correct grammar, correct spelling, no abreviations or slang, but also employ a touch of poetic flair in order to ensure your question reads slightly more interestingly than "Wot sperpower do u want? Lol!!1!", there will always be one dullard who, because you have used so many words (and words of more than no syllables no less) causing their feeble little brains to atrophy, replies along the scathingly witty lines of something like "That's questions don't make sense. Type it again."?

If you can not read English, that is your problem. Why do these people insist on trying to preach how I, a slave to the English language, should use my aforementioned lexography?

Trust me, it's not hard to confuse people with a cleverly articulated question. Most people will not read a question as long as yours because that would require utilizing more brain power than they have used in years. This is probably a self preservation instinct as to protect them from an aneurysm that would result from getting enough oxygen to the brain conducive to answering a more intricate question than a three word sentence.

I second that! There is a myriad of unbelievably illiterate people here on Answers. Why are we, the rare specimens with a decent vocabulary, forced to become a population that is continuously decreasing? I am a student in 7th grade, and am one of the few in my class who have learned to fully appreciate the English language. However, it may be partially genetic, as my parents are linguists.

I agree. I mean, I am a 21 year old guy who doesn't typically worry about such things as grammar. However, sometimes i read other peoples' questions and responses, wondering if they're foreign, without having a complete knowledge of our language, or just plain illiterate.

Because people do not care, particularly given the anonymity that this site offers, about showing any class or style in their replies. People are dull, witless sheep that follow and believe the mass media and are not able to think for themselves. That is my opinion.

I did not know that fat snails had a good vocabulary there Pogue.

I think anything over 2 lines bores people and they prefer quick questions they can slap an answer on and hope they get lazy points? Or perhaps they just have the attention span of a dew worm?

A point put across most articulately. Well done, my fine dinosaur friend.

I would continue but my intelligence is waning as I only have five more minutes at work.

That was really deep. I am glad you got it off your chest. When I come across the questions I can not read, I skip them.

"People are poop?" LMAO

I tend to zone out on a question that is poorly written, with incorrect grammar or punctuation -- or worse, no punctuation so that is it just one long run-on sentence.

Never lower your standards!!
