lemon juice can be used to whiten clothes. take one gallon of the hottest water possible and 1/2 cup of lemon juice or slice one or two lemons. soak for 30 min or overnight. "dont use on silk" or try BLUING. it is a whitening and brightening agent it contains blue pigment which actually counteracts the yellowing that occurs in some fabrics. follow the directions on the bottle. it will even take the yellow out of gray hair.

I would try washing it with a very small amount of bleach (or you can use a detergent with a bleach alternative); then rewash it in a detergent like Dreft (used for baby clothes). Garments come out so nice and soft and smelling so good.
