i think that if you are going to abort,it really should be done as soon as possible, no matter what your beliefs, it seems logical that the longer you continue the worse you will feel, and more debate there is on the issue.
that baby in the news, that was crazy and yes, i think it will spark up a lot of debate and no doubt an eventual change in the abortion laws.

I think it should be lowererd to around 12-14 weeks. Your pretty daft not to know your pregnant after missing 2 periods so that gives you pleanty of time to decide.

After this time abortion becomes more difficult, people have to go under general anisthetic so cutting the limit would save on all this too.

Those amazing pictures last week of Ameila born at 21 weeks and 6 days really make you think.

Obviously for medical reasons it should remain the same (any time) but for non medical reasons it should be cut right back. Why on earth would it take anyone until the 24th week to decide wheter they want the baby or not?

I think there should be much stricter guidlines put in place, it is far too easy for girls to get pregnant and instantly think an abortion is a quick and easy answer, they would think twice if there was a chance they would have to go through with the pregnancy, aborting healthy children is wrong, there are so many people desperate for children and unable to have them. If there is a medical need for an abortion it should be carried out before 18 weeks, I have had 3 premature babies, they are little people in their own right from a very early age

I think the abortion time should be dropped because i was born at 24 weeks and it hurts me to think that across the other side of the hospital when i was being born a baby of the same age as me was being aborted.

I also think abortions should be banned,
when my mother fell pregnant with my older brother 33 years age a doctor gave he a news paper article on abortion it was called "the diary of an unborn child"
and its as if the little baby jotted down the begging of her life. from week to week explaining the changes she was experiencing and the different stages of growth in the womb.
beautiful,
then at 2 months the baby's entry was
"today my mother has murdered me"
i found that so disturbing.
Many women dont realise that inside them, growing, is a person who feels, pain and emotion.
I also think a lot of young women feel its a way out, an easy way out and maybe is for the time being until you mature and realise the sacrifice, and then its a life time of regrets and wondering

I have 2 children and could not imagine my life without them

No. I have seen babies that survive @ 24 weeks. There lungs and stomach are not fully developed. Their prognosis really isnt great. Their lifespan is a lot shorter as well. I think its misrepresented to people that children can survive at 24 weeks or less. It really depends on what you think "surviving" is. If people understand that it can possibly mean a child with a tracheostomy and feeding tube, I think the responses would be different. I know of many kids who are born this young and have to be placed in institutions.

I think it should as you can feel the baby moving and it is a person who can survive outstide the womb all be it a small chance. At 24 weeks you are 6 months pregnant so the baby is fully developed and can feel what is happening, it is totally inhuman to do it at this stage.

yes i do!! felt my baby kicking at 24weeks!! how can someone possibly abort that little baby ESPECIALLY after feeling all the flutters at 15+ weeks and kicks at 20+ weeks!!
also if the baby was to be born at this stage he/she would have a 50/50 chance of survival!
i don't like abortion but do think its ok under STRICT circumstances for example: as a result of rape or if that child was to have a very bad life and die a few sec after birth,or if the mothers life was at risk if she continued with the pregnancy...
i DO NOT agree with abortion as a form of contraception!
