The connection works fine when connected to the VPN, otherwise I'm able to surf for about 5 minutes, then get an error message that says 'unable to connect'. I've checked the DNS, IPCofig, and even tried a program called Winsockxpfix. Nothing seems to work. I have a colleague who is having the exact same issue. I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Did you check to see that your modem is securely plugged in? You may have bumped one of the cords.

Depending on how your connecting to the net I would suggest if your connected to a router or some other type of DHCP Server that you force your ip address instead of using DHCP. In my experience running a VPN on a machine as well as using DHCP to contact a router has caused me problems. Essentially your wanting to change your computer from a dynamic address to a static one. Hope this helps.
