Seriously, we're making more radicals daily there and its not like transportation is a hinderance nowadays to coming to the US.

A GOA report reports an exponential increase (I'll look for the link) in terrorism since 9/11. We keep making enemies and all that stops them from doing things here is a plane ticket and a few hundred bucks.

Please explain this "fight them over there" argument...

Music Man:
Actually that's not a good arguement. The entire reason for Al Qaeda's hatred toward the US was the troops presence in Saudi Arabia. A "holy islamic" nation.
So yes, our troops presence did play a part in the radical's mindset.

"Do you want those terrorists coming over and bombing us? It seems a self evident argument."

I'm blown away!!! How does us being there in the middle of a Civil War stop anyone from coming here???

Also, to the guy who said we cut the terrorists "pillars". Do you realize that the Bush Administration is now being accused of actually funding the Sunni side to keep the Shia side from getting too strong in the region?

What a mess

Right on. The number of terrorist attacks on US INTERESTS world-wide have increased since we started the Iraq war. The argument is patently false. Read this month's Mother Jones. Lays it out in excruciating detail.

They have none, but it is a great rationalization for the mentally challenged!

We aren't even fighting terrorist's in Iraq. We are fighting Iraqi's in a civil war!!!

"And I know what you're gonna say next. 'He sponsors terrorism'. Where's the proof? I thought we were going after bin Laden for that. But wait, Afghanistan ain't got any oil. So we need another monster, who's got something worth taking. And Saddam is so damn convenient. Yeah, he's an evil sonovabitch who deserves to be taken out, but are we the ones who should do it? Are our kids the ones who should die for it? Is he worth another Wall like this?

"And what the hell is terrorism, anyway? It's not a thing; it's not a place; it's not a person. It is a political and military strategy, that's all. Having a 'War On Terrorism' is as ridiculous as having a 'War on Flanking Maneuvers'. You'll end terrorism when there's no longer anything for anybody to get pissed off about."

Can you please name all of the attacks on American Soil since 9-11? Oh, there weren't any?

We're killing terrorists in Iraq. They aren't (for whatever reason) killing themselves here via our planes/towers. I think both of these are good things. Why spoil good things?

P.S. We're not "making" radicals. If having troops in other places creates terrorists, then where should we have pulled our troops out in order to prevent 9-11? Oh wait, that's right. We weren't fighting in any terrorist countries yet. Hmmmm.

There were two pillars of terrorism in the Middle East before we went in. Now there is one. We've cut half their resources to foster terrorism and the fight continues. The other half are tied up there trying to kick us back out. How is this hard to understand? Public education?

Iran would be the best example as they are going to now have nuclear technology. The fight them over there philosophy is to nip them at the bud before they grow strong enough to build a bomb.

It was a cover story to justify the war in Iraq. A parakeet could have seen the consequences.
