all i know is the albums each represent part of a five part story, well, a four part story actually with part 4 having 2 seperate volumes.
they are being released out of order with the first album "second stage turbine blade" being the second part of the story, "keeping secrets of silent earth" the second album is part 3of the story, "Good Apollo" is the third album and it is the first volume of the final fourth part of the story. Kind of like the way Star Wars is a trilogy, this is a quadrilogy. The final album Coheed and Cambria releases will supposedly be the first part of the story. As for the story itself, it supposedly takes place before earth is part of the solar system and deals with the marriage of Coheed and Cambria and their struggles to sacrifice their virus-infected offspring in order to save mankind, with a whole bunch of other stuff going on regarding a ten speed, a writer, a ghost/conscience guy, another dimension, and a chick being held captive in a basement. lol. I am just as confused as everyone else, and thats the way Claudio likes it i think. Apparently Claudio has a side project called "The Prize Fighter Inferno" that also tells stories of Coheed's brother long before the "Amory Wars" saga, which is the story the 5 coheed album's tell.
If you are brave and buy the comics, be prepared to be totally confused and mystified. I think as we get more albums and the newer comics, the story will become more clear....lets hope so anyway cuz i want to know wtf too.

As you may already know, the bands records are a story. the comic books illustrate that story. it's pretty long and complicated, so i'm not gonna try and explain it, but if your interested, go to www.cobaltandcalcium.com, they have a forum/message board that explains it very well.
